another day, another vague horoscope

Description

One of the many reasons I never read the horoscopes is because their characteristic vagueness that makes them applicable to anyone irritates me. So here, I spliced two horoscopes together and made something that could almost pass for another horoscope. Sorry to offend any "true believers" in the stars. For this prompt: Found Poetry: How-To #2: Cut-up/Remix

Methodology: I used two "Pisces" horoscopes (mostly because the font was bigger than for any of the others) from Rob Brezsny's "Free Will Astrology." You can find his website but I had trouble finding the predictions for free online, so I scanned the pages from the newspaper.
March11 horoscope (Rob Brezsny. “Pisces.” Free Will Astrology. March 11, 2015.) and March 17 horoscope (Rob Brezsny. “Pisces.” Free Will Astrology. March 17, 2015.)

Sorry if the bright pink is harsh on the eyes, I just wanted to play around with some of the materials I had on hand, namely my bright pink tissue paper!

And I promise to respond to everyone's messages and critique some other poems soon, but I wanted to make sure I had this in before the deadline!

  • Did the poet intervene on the text? Meaning, is this something new, or is it merely a summarized version of the original text?
This piece simply re-purposes the meaning of the original texts.  Beautiful.
  • Does the work fit in the category that it's been placed?
I can dig the spirituality take on it.
  • Can you hear the poet's voice in the new narrative?
I hear hope, and courage, and self-possession; strength.
  • Does the poem work on it's own? Grammatically and syntactically, is it solid, just like a non-found poem should be?
Yes, I think it was well done.
  • Is there a narrative here, or is it just a list? Does the poem SAY anything?
I hear a tale of bravery, a pilgrimage born of pain, the mountain climber appreciating the burn in his muscles.
